Compass Compression Adds Plant 2, Significantly Increasing Production Space and Celebrates Their Health & Safety Certificate of Recognition (COR)


The growing global demand for natural gas along with limited capabilities in Calgary is driving increased demand for compression equipment and shop capacities.  Compass Compression ServicesLtd. (Compass Compression) displays foresight by leasing an additional 17,000 sq ft of production and office space, at 5475 – 53rd Ave. S.E., Calgary (Plant 2).  The space will be utilized immediately for additional fabrication and compressor packaging.

“Plant 2 has increased our total shop space to 46,000 sq ft, providing sufficient space for Compass Compression to achieve market share growth with a more comprehensive and larger horsepower range of screw, reciprocating and vane compressors,” said Phil Ness, Vice President Operations of Compass Compression.


 Compass Compression Plant 2 is equipped with:

·         12,000 sq ft of fabrication and assembly space
·         Two 5 ton and one 20 ton overhead cranes (total bridge crane capacity of 30 tons)
·         5,000 sq ft of office space for Engineering and Design


 Compass Compression’s original Fabrication Facility is equipped with:

·         34,000 sq ft of fabrication and assembly space
·         Total bridge crane capacity of 60 tons
·         5,000 sq ft of office space for Engineering, Design and Purchasing

Health & Safety Certificate of Recognition (COR)

Compass Compression also announces achieving its Certificate of Recognition for their Health & Safety Program.  COR is a Certificate of Recognition signifying that the Compass Compression Health & Safety Program is compliant with standards established by the Alberta Employment and Immigration Partnership Program.
